The Shin-Etsu Group consists of many subsidiaries and affiliates spreading over 4 major regions (Japan, Asia-Ocenia, Europe & North America) across the globe. The Group's parent company is Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd., an innovative company specializing in the developement and production of specialty chemicals and high-tech materials.

Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd. was established in 1926 to manufacture calcium carbide and nitrogen fertilizers. Since then, Shin-Etsu has been producing and marketing an extensive array of products within her 3 core businesses - Organic & Inorganic Chemicals Business, Electronic Material Business and Functional Materials Business.

From its establishment until today, Shin-Etsu has expanded its businesses overseas as well as domestically. Shin-Etsu has incorporated 4 companies with a total of 8 manufacturing facilities in Malaysia - Shin-Etsu Handotai Malaysia Group (S.E.H. Malaysia Group), Shin-Etsu Malaysia (SEM), Shin-Etsu Electronics Malaysia (SEEM) and Shin-Etsu Polymer Malaysia (SPM).
